In 2013, I spent two months at Vrindavan Farm in Wada, Maharashtra. What was to be a five day trip turned into weeks of living with some very interesting people and more importantly, living in the flow of nature. Time seemed to move much slower; there was space to ponder and discuss the nature of life endlessly. This mural is what came to me when I was trying to capture the essence of life on the farm - gentle, at ease, under the care of the trees.
I first sanded down the yellow wall, painted it with two coats of blue. After which I drew the tree out in chalk. I then outlined the whole tree with white paint using twigs of different sizes. Last was filling in the colour which I did with a sponge for texture. Some of the vines had to be drawn again after the colour was filled in, which was the fun part. I think it took me about two weeks from start to finish.
