When a dear friend died unexpectedly in 2017, I decided to use the idea of drawing for a month through October to celebrate and remember him. This collection of 30 sketches is dedicated to my friend - he lived, he laughed, he ate, he travelled, he loved. He is deeply missed.
I made my own list of prompts to go with what I thought best represented aspects of him, both real and my imagination of his life lived and dreams unmet. The final word of the series is 'birthday', a celebration of his own on the last day of October, beautifully aligning with the last day of Inktober too - a fitting end.

Be still, sweet friend, for there is only Here and Now

Alone, but alone together.
